UPPER MARLBORO, MD –Fiveseniors in Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) have been named 2018 Posse Scholars and will receive four-year, full-tuition college scholarships from colleges and universities who partner with The Posse Foundation.
“Congratulations to our Posse Scholars. They are some of the hardest-working, brightest students in our school system,” said Dr. Kevin M. Maxwell, Chief Executive Officer for PGCPS. “Thank you to the Posse Foundation for providing our students with financial assistance to further their education.”
PGCPS students joined 45 others in the region recently for The Posse Foundation annual awards ceremony at the Lincoln Theatre in Washington, D.C.
Next fall, Posse Scholars from across the nation will enter partnering colleges and universities in multicultural groups of 10 known as “posses.” Throughout their college career, they will support each other and receive ongoing assistance from The Posse Foundation. Students participating in the Posse program have a 90 percent college graduation rate, and have proven to make a difference on campus and in their professions.
