Anne Arundel County- Confirmed at 7 am- All Anne Arundel County Public Schools will open two hours late today and will close at their normal time instead of two hours early as previously scheduled. There will be no half-day Prekindergarten and ECI sessions, but students in full-day Prekindergarten classes will have class and should report two hours later than normal.

There will be no morning sessions at the Centers of Applied Technology North or South, but afternoon sessions will be held at those center


Calvert County- CCPS will be opening 2 hours late on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. 12 mo. staff report on time.


Charles County- Public schools 2 hour delay, staff Code 2. No AM prekindergarten will be held.


Prince George’s County- 

Code Orange – Schools and offices will open with a two-hour delay. Emergency personnel are not eligible for liberal leave and must report to work on time.

  • There will be no work-study transportation. (Those students should not report to school.)
  • There will be no half-day Early Childhood Center (ECC), half-day Special Education Programs, or half-day Pre-K.
  • Any other school program requiring transportation prior to 12 noon will NOT have transportation, including Howard B. Owens Science Center,JA Finance Park, and William S. Schmidt Center (Camp Schmidt)
  • All field trips will be cancelled.
  • Food Services will offer breakfast.
  • We will re-evaluate conditions at 7 a.m.

The Circuit and District Courts for Prince George’s County will open to the public at 10:30 a.m.  Staff is to report at 10 a.m.

LARGO, MD – With the threat of inclement weather forecast for Wednesday, February 7, 2018, the Prince George’s County Department of the Environment advises residents that all curbside bulky, regular trash and recycling collections may be cancelled or delayed due to road or weather-related conditions.

If collection services are postponed, every effort will be made to pick-up on the following day. However, if collections are suspended for two consecutive days, those pickups will resume the following week. Residents are reminded to leave their collection containers at the curbside and that pickups can occur from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

In addition, all services located at the Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill in Upper Marlboro including the Brown Station Road Public Container Pad and Recycling Area, the Household Hazardous Acceptance Site, the Electronics Recycling Acceptance Site, the Prince George’s County Organics Composting Facility, scrap tire and appliance disposal sites, and the Missouri Avenue Solid Waste Acceptance and Recycling Center in Brandywine may also experience suspension in services due to weather-related conditions.

St. Mary’s County- Normal

St. Mary’s Ryken- Calvert, Charles, and Prince George’s County schools are on a two-hour delay for Wednesday, February 7, due to weather conditions this morning. St. Mary’s is opening on time so buses will not run today for Charles, PG and Calvert. Students from those counties are excused from school if they do not have transportation.


State of Maryland- Statewide Liberal Leave is in effect, Wednesday, February 7, 2018 until 11:00 a.m. Emergency essential personnel should report as scheduled.
