March 22, 2018

Anne Arundel County:

  • Public Schools:  Due to inclement weather, all Anne Arundel County Public Schools will open two hours late today. There will be no morning half-day pre-kindergarten or ECI classes, and no morning sessions at the Centers of Applied Technology North or South. Students in full-day pre-kindergarten classes will have class, and should report two hours later than normal.
  • County Offices :are open and operating on their normal schedule
  • Animal Control is operating on its normal schedule.
  • Millersville Landfill & Recycling Centers:These facilities are open and operating.
  • Recreation and Parks:UPDATE for Thursday, March 22 – In cooperation with Anne Arundel County Board of Education delay opening the following delay are in effect:

The A.M. SACC locations will open at 9:00 a.m.. South County Rec Center Pre-K will open at 11:00 a.m.

North Arundel Aquatic Center and the Arundel Olympic Swim center will open at 10:00 a.m.

Regional Parks will open at 10:00 a.m.

Updated cancellations and closing will be posted as the come available.

  • Senior Centers:UPDATE for Thursday, March 22: Due to the weather conditions, all senior activity centers will open at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 22nd, 2018. Lunch will not be served at any Nutrition Program site. Senior Center Plus will be canceled as well. Classes beginning at 10:00 a.m. or later will be held as scheduled.

Calvert County:

  • Public Schools: Two hour delay, with Code 1 for 12 month staff
  • Calvert County Government offices will open at 10:30 March 22, 2018, due to winter storm Toby.
  • Calvert County Government offices and the circuit and district courts will open at 10:30 a.m. with liberal leave in effect. Employees must contact their supervisors to request liberal leave
  •  The Appeal Landfill will open at 10:30 a.m. and all Calvert County convenience centers will open at 10:30 a.m.
  • Calvert County public libraries will open at 10:30 a.m.
  • County parks and community centers will open at 10:30 a.m. and the Edward T. Hall Aquatic Center will open at 10:30 a.m. Chesapeake Hills Golf Course will remain closed.
  • Transportation services will begin 10:30 a.m
  •  Calvert County Health Department offices will open at 10:30 a.m
  •  County senior centers will open at 10:30 a.m. Meals on Wheels will not be delivered.

Charles County:

  • Charles County Government will open at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 22 for all non-essential employees. Essential personnel and employees required to maintain operations during inclement weather are to report to work as scheduled.
  • Due to inclement weather, Charles County Government will open at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 22 for all non-essential employees.The following facilities will open at 8 a.m.:Alphabest school based before/aftercare locations, including the Port Tobacco Alphabest site

    The following facilities will open at 9 a.m.:

    A Charles County Landfill, Landfill Recycling Center, and Pisgah Recycling Centers (Note: recycling collection is delayed one day)

    The following facilities and services will begin operations at 10 a.m.:

    Nanjemoy Community Center
    All senior centers
    Tri-County Animal Shelter
    Charles County Health Department
    Lackey High School, Donald M. Wade Aquatic Center, and North Point High School indoor pools
    All school-based community centers
    Charles County Public Schools and activities
    Crain Memorial Welcome Center
    Charles County Public Library (all Branches)

    The following facilities is on a 2-hour delay:

    Charles County Circuit Court

    The following facilities will open on time:

    Elite Gymnastics and Recreation Center
    Port Tobacco Recreation Center
    Meals on Wheels program, but some participants may experience delays due to road conditions
    VanGO (possible delays based on road conditions)

  • Public Schools: will open two hours late Thursday, March 22, 2018. Code 2 for employees who follow the code system. No morning prekindergarten will be held.

St. Mary’s County:

Leonardtown, MD – Drivers are urged to exercise caution as slick spots have developed following yesterday’s snowfall around the county. Due to road conditions, the following delays and schedule changes will be in effect for Thursday, March 22:

  • All St. Mary’s County Administrative Offices will open at 10 a.m. Essential personnel should report at their normal time. The weekly Commissioners of St. Mary’s County business meeting, postponed from Tuesday, March 20, will begin at 11 a.m. in Leonardtown.
  • All St. Mary’s County Public Schools, including full day Head Start, will operate on a two hour delay. There will be no school for A.M. Pre-Kindergarten and A.M. Head Start students. However, there will be classes for P.M. Pre-Kindergarten and P.M. Head Start students. Code 5 for employees.
  • Non-Public School transportation will operate on a two hour delay.
  • All Recreation and Parks programs operating in the Public Schools will operate on a two hour delay.
  • Recreation and Parks facilities will open at 10 a.m.
  • STS Transit will operate on a normal schedule
  • The six (6) Convenience Centers and St, Andrews Landfill will open at 10 a.m.
  • All three Senior Activity Centers (Garvey, Loffler and Northern) will open at 10 a.m. Meals will be served at the centers. Home deliveries of meals will resume.
  • All St. Mary’s County Library locations (Charlotte Hall, Leonardtown & Lexington Park) will open at 10 a.m.
  • St. Mary’s County Circuit Courthouse and District Courthouse will open at 10 a.m. with court sessions beginning at 10:30 a.m.
  • All College of Southern Maryland campuses will open at 10 a.m.
  • NAS Pax River will operate on a two hour arrival delay/Unscheduled Leave/Telework Status

Anne Arundel County:

  • All Public schools and offices closed. Code Red in effect for employees. Unit III report to work stations
  • All Anne Arundel Senior Centers are closed
  • Annapolis Government closed, Emergency and essential employees must report to work at their normally scheduled hours.

Calvert County:

  • All Calvert County Government offices and the circuit and districts courts are closed March 21.· County bus service is not available March 21.· All county Parks & Recreation activities, rentals and programs are canceled for March 21.· The county’s community centers, nature center, parks, the Chesapeake Hills Golf Course and the Edward T. Hall Aquatic Center are closed March 21.· County convenience centers will close at 8 a.m. and the Appeal Landfill will close at 10 a.m.· Calvert County libraries are closed today.· The Calvert Marine Museum is closed.· All Health Department offices are closed.
  • Calvert County Public Schools closed. No childcare, all activities cancelled. Emergency personal report to work at 1 p.m., all other employees do not report.
  • Black Belt Academy of Prince Frederick- Due to current and pending weather conditions, the 10:30 am and Toddler Class are canceled for today, Wednesday, March 21st. A decision about the evening classes will be made by 2 pm. Please check back here, or call the studio to check, before heading to class.
  • Arc SOMD offices in Calvert, Charles and St Marys will be closed today 3/21/18 due to inclement weather.

Charles County:

  • Charles County Government closed
  • Charles County Circuit Court Closed
  • Charles County Public Library (all Branches) Closed
  • Charles County Health Department Closed
  • Charles County Landfill being closed, the trash service for Wednesday 3/21 is cancelled and will be picked up on Thursday 3/22.The recycling contractor for the Town recycling pickup has cancelled services for Wednesday 3/21 and will pickup on Wednesday 3/28. If residents need to have their containers emptied prior to 3/28 they may call (301) 934-8421 and schedule pickup.
  • All Department of Community Services programs and facilities, including Meals on Wheels, Elite Gymnastics Center, Indoor Pools, Senior Centers and Community Recreation Centers.-Closed
  • VanGO- Closed
  • Tri-County Animal Shelter Closed
  • Crain Memorial Welcome Center
  • Charles County Public Schools Closed, code Red for staff who follow code system
  • Town of La Plata: Due to the inclement weather forecast for Wednesday 3/21, trash and recycling services maybe cancelled. If services are cancelled, Wednesdays 3/21 trash will be picked up on Thursday 3/22 and Wednesdays 3/21 recycling will be picked up on Wednesday 3/28.
  • Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head EOD Technology Division closed. Those employees with signed telework agreements are expected to telework
  • States Attorney’s Office closed
  • Annie’s Early Learning Center- Closed
  • All-American Harley-Hughesville- Closed
  • Southern Maryland Association of REALTORS- The SMAR Office will be closed on Wednesday, March 21st, due to inclement weather. All classes scheduled for the 21st have been cancelled. Registrants will be notified via email when they have been rescheduled. Stay safe and warm.

Prince George’s County:

  • Sierra Club Maryland Chapter– College Park closed
  • PG county Government closed, all essential employees report. All County buildings closed.

St. Mary’s County:

  • St. Michael’s School closed
  • Mother Catherine Academy closed
  • St. Mary’s Ryken High School- closed, code 3 for employees
  • St. Mary’s County Public Schools (SMCPS) closed, Code 3
  • St. Mary’s County Government- CLOSED
  • NAS Pax River, Webster Field, and NRC Solomon’s will open for business as usual on Wednesday, March 21. All personnel are expected to report to work on time. Roads will be pre-treated beginning around 4:00 am. Rain is expected to continue overnight, turning to sleet around 6:00 am and then to snow around 7:00 am with peak snowfall between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. Temperatures are expected to remain above freezing throughout the day. We will reassess and adjust our opening/operating status as conditions and accumulation develop.
  • All three Senior Activity Centers (Garvey, Loffler and Northern) will remained closed. No meals will be served at the centers and there will be no home delivered meals. There will also be no STS bus service to the centers for today.
  • All St. Mary’s County Library locations (Charlotte Hall, Leonardtown & Lexington Park) will open at 10 a.m.
  • St. Mary’s County Circuit Courthouse is closed
  • Recreation and Parks facilities closed and cancelled activities.
  • STS Transit will not operate.
  • The six (6) Convenience Centers and St, Andrews Landfill will remained closed
  • Southern Maryland Women’s Healthcare, P.A.-The offices are CLOSED today at 9am due to inclement weather! If you had an appointment today, the office will contact you to reschedule.
  •  St. Clement’s Island Museum, the Piney Point Lighthouse Museum & Historic Park, and the Drayden African-American Schoolhouse are closed today, Wednesday, March 21, 2018.
  • MWR Pax River- The Community Recreation Tickets & Travel Office is currently without heat and will be closing today, March 21 at 10 a.m.

State of Maryland and Federal Government:

  • University of Maryland campus closed
  • College of Southern Maryland- All campus’s closed
  • Federal Offices are closed – Emergency and Telework-Ready Employees must follow their agency’s policies
  • All MARC Train service is suspended
  • Commuter Bus Service will not operate today
  • Marine Corps Base Quantico’s Operating Status is Code Red. Conditions are severe and the Base is closed for normal operation. Only emergency and essential personnel are expected to report to work. Personnel should contact their chain of command for specific command/activity guidance or direction. The MCBQ VRE shuttle service will not run in Code Red conditions. DoDEA Schools are Closed.
  • Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division; operating status for Wednesday, March 21, is open, with unscheduled leave and unscheduled telework authorized.
  • Joint Base Andrews is CLOSED for all non-mission essential personnel. Please contact your chain of command to discuss unscheduled leave or telework.
