Fredericksburg, Va. –SeniorLacey Brown(Monkton, Md./Hereford) became the first St. Mary’s College of Maryland women’s lacrosse player to earn the Capital Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week award this season. Garnering the honor for the week ending April 8, this isBrown’ssecond career CAC weekly honor.

The 5-2 attacker collected CAC Offensive Player of the Week honors after totaling five goals, two assists, six caused turnovers and five ground balls in a 2-0 week for the Seahawks.

Brownopened up the week with her 12th career hat trick, and fourth of the season, of three goals plus a career-best four caused turnovers and three ground balls in a 13-12 overtime win at Marymount (Va.) University on Apr. 4.

She closed out the week with two goals, two assists, two ground balls, and two caused turnovers in a victory over Southern Virginia University this past Saturday. Her fourth point of the day against Southern Virginia marked her 100th career point as she now amassed 78 goas and 22 assists thus far in her career.

Browncurrently leads the conference with 15 free-position goals while being tied for eighth with 14 caused turnovers and tied for 10th with 23 ground balls. She is also 11th with 12 assists, tied for 12th with 37 points, and tied for 14th with 25 goals.

St. Mary’s (6-6, 2-2 CAC) will be back in action this Wednesday, April 11 when the Seahawks host No. 7 York College of Pennsylvania (7-3, 2-1 CAC) in a conference matchup at 4:00 p.m. in Seahawk Stadium.
