ST. MARY’S CITY, Md. – Four members of the St. Mary’s College of Maryland women’s rowing team were named National Scholar-Athletes by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA). Katie GillElena LeagueMira League, and Katie Ortelrepresented the Seahawks on the Division III squad.

“I’m proud of the effort these student-athletes put into their academic performance,” stated head men’s and women’s rowing coach, Anna Lindgren-Streicher. “Their ability to be high achievers in the classroom while also contributing to the top level of our team is truly impressive!”

To be eligible for CRCA National Scholar-Athlete recognition, a rower must be in her second, third of fourth year of eligibility, have rowed in her institution’s NCAA or IRA eligible boat(s) for a minimum of 75 percent of the current spring races or racing in a regional conference event and have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA for her career.
