The Dallas Morning Star is reporting the Former Presidential Candidate(1992 and 1996) and self-made billionaire, Ross Perot has died at 89 following a five-month battle with leukemia.

Henry Ross Perot (June 27, 1930 – July 9, 2019) was an American business magnate, billionaire, philanthropist, and former politician. He was the founder and former chief executive officer of Electronic Data Systems and Perot Systems. He ran an independent presidential campaign in 1992 and a third-party campaign in 1996, establishing the Reform Party in the latter election. Both campaigns were among the strongest presidential showings by a third party or independent candidate in U.S. history.

Perot and his wife Margot (née Birmingham) have five children (Ross Jr., Nancy, Suzanne, Carolyn, and Katherine).

With an estimated net worth of about US$4.1 billion in 2017, he is ranked by Forbes as the 167th-richest person in the United States.

Perot died on July 9, 2019 at the age of 89 in Dallas, Texas.
