Camp Springs, MD- Prince George’s County Police detectives continue to actively investigate a shooting on Saturday night that left seven adults injured.

Five of those who were shot remain hospitalized. At this time, none of the injuries is considered life-threatening. Detectives would like to speak to anyone who has information that could help with this investigation.

On August 24th, at approximately 9:00 pm, patrol officers responded to the 6200 block of Maxwell Drive for a reported shooting. The officers located seven people suffering from gunshot wounds. They were taken to various hospitals throughout the region. Two have since been released.

The preliminary investigation reveals the shooting occurred at a gathering to celebrate a toddler’s birthday. Detectives are working to determine a motive and identify the suspect(s).
