Three members of the College of Southern Maryland women’s cross country team ran their fastest 6K times of the season at the Hood College Open on October 19 in Frederick, Md.

SophomoreSierra Walkerfinished 67th out of 135 runners in the women’s 6K race with a time of 27:54.3, making this her fastest 6K time this season by almost 50 seconds and her second-fastest time ever.

Freshman Brittney Douglas ran the race in 28:41.9, good enough to put her in 76th place.

Freshman Briana Douglas submitted her fastest 6K time of the season as well, finishing 93rd in 30:47.0, nearly a minute faster than her previous best time. “It was shocking to see Briana run her best time ever considering she was under the weather most of the week,” CSM head coach Ken Killion said.

FreshmanGabrielle Wilsonremained consistent, again improving her best time by running roughly 25 seconds faster than the previous meet, finishing this race in 35:55.1. She finished in 118th place.

The Hawks’ next race will be the Region XX meet on October 26.
