On February 10, 2020, Deputy Sampson conducted a traffic stop in the area of Route 231 and Prince Frederick Boulevard in Prince Frederick. After making contact with the driver, Darryl Wayne Icenhower (27), Icenhower was removed from the vehicle and a search was conducted which resulted in an eyeglass case containing a metal spoon with blue residue and burn marks, an orange syringe cap, paper folds containing two plastic baggies of a blue powder substance suspected to be heroin, 6 cotton cigarette filters, and a small cotton ball with suspected heroin residue.
A second spoon was located in the glove compartment, as well as two partial Suboxone strips in wrappers. Icenhower was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with CDS: Possession- Not Marijuana, and CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia.
On February 12, 2020, Deputy Savick conducted a traffic stop at Sneades Ace Hardware Store in Owings. Upon making contact with the driver, Michael Joe Cluxton (37), Deputy Savick observed Cluxton be extremely nervous and make continuous movements towards the driver’s side floor area. Cluxton was removed from the vehicle and a search was conducted which resulted in a blue straw with powder residue, two orange and white Adderall capsules, which Cluxton advised he did not have a prescription for.
A black Mossberg 500 12 gauge shotgun loaded with seven rounds was also located in an LED lightbox in the vehicle. A search of Cluxton’s person revealed a Ziploc bag containing multiple colored pills suspected to be Xanax and Klonopin. Cluxton was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with CDS: Possession- Not Marijuana, CDS Possession with Intent to Distribute, CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia, Possession of Rifle/Shotgun with Felony Conviction, and Illegal Possession of Ammunition.
On February 12, 2020, Deputy Parks conducted a traffic stop on Dalrymple Road at Ray Road in Sunderland. Deputy Parks made contact with the driver, Michael Tenney (30), and when asked, Tenney advised he had an unloaded Glock 27 in a bag, two 80% lowers for the gun, as well as an empty magazine in the vehicle. Deputy Parks removed the handgun bag from the vehicle and located the empty 9mm magazine. Tenney was removed from the vehicle and a search was conducted resulting in a backpack in the backseat containing two gallon-sized vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana, a large mason jar containing marijuana, two full zip lock baggies of marijuana and a black digital scale.
In the front pocket of the backpack were two extended 9mm Glock magazines, one loaded with 21 rounds and the other loaded with 20 rounds. Tenney was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with CDS: Distribution Etc. with a Firearm, CDS Distributing/Dispense- Large Amount, CDS: Possession of Marijuana Over 10grams, Firearm/Drug Traffic Crime, Firearm Use/Felony Violation, Handgun in Vehicle, Handgun on Person, and Assault Weapon/ Magazine Use.
On February 15, 2020, Deputy Stevens responded to Brickhouse Road in Dunkirk for the report of an intoxicated male. Upon arrival, Deputy Stevens met with the complainant who advised they offered to give Karl Kozee (48) a ride home from Anthony’s Bar and Grill, which Kozee accepted but would not provide his address or a phone number to the complainant. Deputy Stevens observed Kozee to be slumped over in the front passenger and appeared to be asleep. Upon approaching the vehicle, Kozee woke up and exited the vehicle, but became disorderly while speaking with deputies and would not provide a home address.
Deputy Stevens detected the strong odor of alcohol emanating from Kozee’s breath. Kozee ignored the deputy’s commands and continued to behave in a disorderly and disruptive manner. Kozee was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with Intoxicated Public Disturbance, and Disorderly Conduct.
