News Release, Calvert County Public Information Office
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – March 11, 2020 – The Calvert County Department of Public Works has begun construction on a new roadway that will provide secondary access for those entering and exiting Hallowing Point Park. The roadway will extend from the back of Hallowing Point Park to Jibsail Drive, on the east side of the Calvert County Industrial Park.
Current park exit procedures will remain in place during construction, with a right turn only allowed from the park onto Hallowing Point Road (MD 231) on Saturdays and Sundays, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. The new road is expected to be in use by the end of April.
Citizens are reminded to stay away from the construction area.
Building a secondary entrance road is the first phase of traffic safety improvements in the area of Hallowing Point Park. Additional phases will include further roadway modifications in the surrounding area to optimize the safe flow of traffic into and out of the park.
The park returns to summer operating hours of 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. on March 14. Hallowing Point Park is located at 4755 Hallowing Point Road in Prince Frederick.
