LEONARDTOWN, MD– The Maryland Sea Grant, through the offices of the University of Maryland Extension, is hosting a series of three events in June:

June 16 –Rain Barrels 101Webinar –This free webinar will focus on the practical uses for rain barrels and how they reduce the impact of runoff on our local waterways and benefit homeowners. June 23 –Backyard CompostingWebinar –Learn how to turn food and yard waste into a valuable resource for your garden that’s free! Compost improves soil health and water retention and provides nutrients for plants. Backyard composting is beneficial because it reduces the amount of materials that are put in landfills.
