UPDATE 6/22/2020- ISSUE, MD — The Postal Service is announcing the temporary suspension of the Issue, MD, Post Office, located at 15800 Cobb Island Road, effective June 27, 2020. The Postal Service is in the process of finding a new site for the Issue, MD Post Office.

Retail services will be moved to the Newburg Post Office, 12179 Rock Point Road, Newburg, MD 20664 until a new Post Office in Issue, MD, is operational. Issue P.O. Boxes will move to the Newburg Post Office and these customers will receive new keys for their P.O. Boxes. Since the Newburg Post Office only has medium size P.O. Boxes, customers currently renting large boxes at the Issue Post Office will receive partial refunds.

Issue, MD, customers may continue to use Issue, MD, as the last line of their delivery address, with 20645 as the ZIP Code.

Rural delivery in Issue, MD, will operate as normal.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.

The closure, if approved, will not affect mail delivery. Issue Post Office customers may continue to use Issue, MD, as the last line of their delivery address, with 20645 as the ZIP Code. Retail services will be available at the Newburg Post Office, 12179 Rock Point Road, Newburg, MD 20664. The phone number at the Newburg Post Office is 301-934-8463.

The meeting, scheduled for June 22, 2020, will be conducted as a virtual meeting via telephone. Postal representatives will be available. Call-in users will be able to listen to a brief presentation and ask questions about the Issue, MD postal facility.You will also be able to listen to other callers ask their questions as well.

Postal representatives will be available on June 22, 2020,from 1 p.m. to 1:40 p.m. to answer questions and provide information.
