LEONARDTOWN, MD – August 21, 2020. Defendant Rex Douglas Reece (D.O.B. 12/16/1971) was sentenced to serve twenty (20) years in prison for attempted armed robbery.

On December 13, 2019, the Defendant committed an attempted armed robbery at the Abell’s Tavern in Callaway, MD. In Maryland, the maximum penalty for attempted armed robbery is 20 years.

On December 31, 2019, deputies responded to the 20200 block of Piney Point Road in Callaway, for the reported robbery. A witness reported a male brandished a knife and demanded money. The individual, later identified as Rex Douglas Reece Jr., age 48 of Leonardtown, left in a vehicle and was quickly located in the area and taken into custody. Reece was charged with Robbery, Armed Robbery, and Assault 1st Degree. Arrest handled by Det. Sidorowicz# 328. CASE# 74905-19
