David M. Higgins II is an award-winning journalist passionate about uncovering the truth and telling compelling stories. Born in Baltimore and raised in Southern Maryland, he has lived in several East Coast states, giving him a broad perspective on American life and culture. Since high school, David has been drawn to the field of journalism, and he has dedicated his career to pursuing this passion.
Over the years, David has gained extensive digital marketing experience, eventually leading him back to his first love of journalism. In December 2017, he founded The Southern Maryland Chronicle and quickly grew it to become the region's top news source, known for its trustworthy reporting and above-industry customer service. David's journalism work is characterized by his attention to detail, commitment to ethical reporting, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
In addition to his work at The Southern Maryland Chronicle, David has covered a wide range of topics as a freelance journalist, from local politics and business to national events and trends. His writing is marked by his versatility, humor, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
David is also a devoted father to his five children(Chloe, Hannah, Emily, Ethan, and Elias). He enjoys spending time with my family, golfing, collecting WWE and Star Wars memorabilia, gold panning, and doing little projects around my house.
He has earned a Bachelor of Science degree and always seeks new opportunities to challenge himself and grow as a journalist.
