David M. Higgins II is an award-winning journalist and founder of The Southern Maryland Chronicle. A Baltimore native raised in Southern Maryland, Higgins founded the Chronicle in 2017 and has built it into a trusted source for local news across the region.
His reporting focuses on government, public safety, business, community issues and breaking news, with an emphasis on accuracy, transparency and accountability. He also has experience in digital marketing and freelance journalism.
Higgins holds a Bachelor of Science degree and continues to expand his work as a journalist while leading the Chronicle’s coverage of Southern Maryland.
