Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE) officials today unveiled ‘Ms. Henergy,’ the newest addition to Annapolis’ multi-year public display art campaign honoring the capital city’s organic food access movement and the rebirth of its arts district.
Located outside of BGE’s West St. offices, the chicken sculpture is adorned with multi-colored rooftops and power lines, symbolic of BGE connecting Annapolis’ diverse communities with reliable service.
The colorful addition is the latest and most artistic expression of BGE’s long-standing support of Annapolis communities. This year, Windsor Farm Elementary School was named the grand prize winner of the BGE Natural Gas Safety Hero challenge, and six Annapolis-based nonprofits were awarded funding through the BGE Green Grants environmental preservation program.
“BGE enjoys incredible relationships in Annapolis with our neighbors and business partners,” said Valencia McClure, vice president of governmental and external affairs and corporate relations for BGE. “We appreciate the opportunity to expand our support of this great city, and its public commitment to healthier living.”
