AFFECTED VEHICLES

  • 2011-2017Ford F-250 Super Duty
  • 2011-2017Ford F-350 Super Duty

According to the firm’s lawsuit, much like VW, GM, Fiat Chrysler and Mercedes, Fordhas intentionally sold its Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty trucks with emissions-cheating devices that mask the release ofillegally high levels of NOx.NOx is highly regulated due to its danger to the environment.

As a result, consumers paid an$8,400 premium(compared to its gasoline equivalent) for a diesel truck that is, in fact, emitting illegal levels of deadly NOx emissions, rendering it illegal to drive on the road.Ford knew consumers would pay more for a powerful and efficient diesel option, and manipulated the emissions systemtoobtain the power and performance it wanted, while hiding illegal levels of pollution.

Meanwhile, Ford marketed and sold these trucks as the “cleanest Super Diesel ever,” and said it used “proven technology and innovative Ford strategies to meet the latest federal emissions standards.” Ford claimed it reduced nitrogen oxide (“NOx”) by 80 percent over previous models.

Simply put, Ford owners paid $8,400 more, compared to gasoline-powered Super Duty trucks, for a diesel-powered truck that does not comply with federal standards.

EMISSIONS CHEATING EXPLAINED

According to Hagens Berman’sinvestigation,Ford manipulated the emissions systemin affected F-250 and F-350 Super Duty trucks, in violation of federal requirements, similar to those used by Volkswagen, Mercedes, Fiat Chrysler and GM. Our independent testing revealed twice the legal limits of emissions released during normal driving.

We believe Ford was motivated by its desire to increase sales and profits, and broke federal and state emissions laws to achieve the fuel economy, range, towing powerand performance Ford promised its customers.

YOUR CONSUMER RIGHTS

Hagens Berman believes that consumers have the right to reimbursement for the premium price they paid for what they thought was a powerful, efficientand emissions-compliant option. Ford’s cheating renders these trucks out of compliance with federal regulations.Simply put, thousands of consumers did not receive what they paid for, and purchased their F-250 and F-350 Super Duty trucks under what we believe is false information.
