Cobb Island, MD- At approximately 8:51 p.m. on March 24, 2018, a 9-1-1 call was placed for a single story, single family home structure fire with people possibly trapped. Crews from Cobb Island Volunteer Fire Department and EMS along with Newburg Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department responded with about 50 personal.
When they arrived, they discovered a fully engulfed fire on one side of the residence. Personnel from Squad 10 and Truck 1 conducted primary and secondary searches on the home and found no one to be trapped. All units assisted in containing the fire, which took approximately 15 minutes to control.
On the scene also were Ambulance 68 and 69 handled, which handled Rehab and CIVFD Auxiliary which handled refreshments for the personnel and victims.
Upon arrival of the State Fire Marshal they discovered The fire displaced 2 adults and 2 children. The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
