Charles County Government is partnering with the Alice Ferguson Foundation, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration  for the annual trash clean-up day at Mallows Bay Park (1440 Wilson Landing Road, Nanjemoy) scheduled for Saturday, April 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  (rain date: Sunday, April 29).

Volunteers can walk the shoreline of Mallows Bay Park or use a kayak or canoe.  Volunteers may bring their own kayak or canoe or rent one through local outfitterwww.atlantickayak.com who provides rental delivery and pick up. The clean-up is timed to coincide with low tide and maximum shoreline exposure.

Mallows Bay offers unique archaeological, recreational, historical, cultural, educational, and environmental opportunities for residents and tourists. The site includes historic vessels dating back to the Revolutionary War, remains of the largest ‘Ghost Fleet’ of the World War I steamships, wildlife viewing areas, fishing, boating access, and a hiking trail.
