TAX CUTS and a Balanced Budget!

This operating budget demonstrates compromise between Republicans and Democrats, and between Governor and the legislature. This is our FOURTH consecutive balanced budget.

Growth in spending is limited to 2.2% in this budget, while Maryland’s tax revenues are increasing at 3%. This budget shows the fiscal restraint and responsible spending Maryland needs to remain hospitable to residents as well as grow new businesses. W ithout structural changes, Maryland’s spending growth will outpace revenue growth by 1.2% annually, but not this year.

And all of this done with NO NEW TAXES!

The state will be returning a little over $80M a year in the form of an increased standard deduction and an expanded earned income tax credit.

Those are TAX CUTS.
