Lucia Owens of Huntingtown Elementary won first place at the elementary level at First Lady Yumi Hogan’s Spring 2018 Student Artwork Exhibition. Lucia, a fifth grader, was honored for her painting entitled “The Lonely Barn.” She received one of three awards given for outstanding accomplishments in the visual arts.
Dr. Daniel D. Curry, Superintendent, said, “We are delighted to see our young artist recognized at this high level and look forward to seeing her future work.”

First Lady Hogan, the Maryland State Department of Education-Office of Fine Arts, the Maryland Art Education Association and the Maryland State Arts Council partner to host the annual exhibition to recognize Maryland student artists.
All student artwork will be on display until September 2018 at the House of Delegates Gallery Space in Annapolis, Maryland.
