Summer Concert
Bucket List Band – Performing July 20 at 7 PM

New to the concert series!  Bucket List is a 4-member Classic and Modern Rock band featuring lead electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass and drums. Some of the artists we cover include the Eagles, Beatles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Eric Clapton, Guns & Roses, Moody Blues, Jethro Tull, Marshall Tucker Band, and Creedence Clearwater Revival. Locations where we have performed locally in the Southern Maryland area include the Charles County Fair, Town of Indian Head, Waldorf Jaycees, Hawthorne Country Club, Annmarie Gardens, Apehangers, Blue Dog Saloon, Island Music, Regency Stadium, and
Charlotte Hall Veterans Home.

Concert goers are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs for sitting. Coolers are allowed, but no alcohol, please. Concessions are available from the Town’s food trailer located in the back of the parking lot; an ice cream truck is stationed there for your enjoyment. A play area for children, the Kids’ Zone, allows parents to enjoy the concert while keeping an eye on the little ones.

Please note military concerts are usually about 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes
due to their regulations.

Town of La Plata Comprehensive Plan Update
The Town will be holding several listening sessions throughout July, August and September to discuss topics that were highlighted during the kick-off meeting. The meeting schedule is subject to change, so please check the website for any updates at: bit.ly/ToLPCompUpdate
The tentative meeting dates are as follows:
  • July 26, 2018 at Town Hall, 7:00 pm –  Municipal Growth Element
  • August 8, 2018 at TBD, 12:00 pm – Downtown
  • August 29, 2018 at Town Hall, 7:00 pm – Transportation
  • September 13, 2018 (Time and location TBD) – Economic Development

The La Plata Farmers Market is open from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Wednesdays and 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturdays. The market is located behind the Charles County Courthouse in the parking lot on the north side of Talbot St. on Wednesdays and in the parking lot on the south side of Talbot St. on Saturdays.
