CHARLES COUNTY, MD (August 24, 2018)  – A Deputy State Fire Marshal has charged a Charles County Inmate for damaging a sprinkler head at the Charles County Detention Center. 

            On Augusat 23, 2018, at approximately 08:00 am the Office of the State Fire Marshal was contacted to respond to the Charles County Detention Center for an inmate who damaged a sprinkler head inside his cell causing it to flood.  The damage was estimated to be approximately $500.

           As a result of the investigation by the Office of the State Fire Marshal, Isaiah Lynn Washington (06/10/1996) was served a criminal summons charging him with Malicious Destruction of Property Under $1000 and Causing an Intentional Fire Alarm.  Mr. Washington was the only person in his cell at the time of the incident.
