CSM Main Stage productions this year include “Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society’s Production of ‘A Christmas Carol’,” a twist on a Dicken’s classic, and a spring presentation of the musical “Pippin.”

CSM Cause Theatre productions, presentations designed to raise timely and provocative issues, will feature the themes of parity and sibling relationships in the fall production of “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike,” and the issue of racial inequity in the spring production of “Hate Crimes.” Information on all CSM theatrical productions is available at www.csmd.edu/Arts.

Music performances include the Ward Virts Concert Series at the Prince Frederick Campus and the Benny C. Morgan  Series at the Leonardtown Campus. Both of these series are presented for free to the college and community thanks to the financial assistance of generous donors and funding from the CSM Foundation, the Arts Council of Calvert County and the Maryland State Arts Council. In time for the holidays, musical offerings include CSM’s Choral Concert, Barbershop Concert, Jazz Ensemble Concert, Latin Ensemble Concert and Student Honors Recital. “The music program will continue to combine ensembles for the annual winter concerts in December with the Latin and Jazz Ensembles sharing an evening, and the Chorale, Chamber Choir and Barbershop Chorus combining for another evening event,” Johnson said. End-of-semester dance presentations will again be performed by students in CSM’s dance program.
