Fredericksburg, Va. – Junior goalkeeper Patrick Paolini (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard) picked up Capital Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honors for the week of September 10. This is Paolini’s second conference weekly honor of his career as he garnered the same honor last fall on September 5.

He claimed CAC Defensive Player of the Week accolades after helping the St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s soccer team post a 3-0 week with wins over Washington College, Virginia Wesleyan University and Bridgewater (Va.) College). Paoliniposted 14 saves and two shutouts in 180 minutes of work between the pipes last week.
The 5-11 goalkeeper notched a career-best nine stops in a 2-0 shutout win over Bridgewater (Va.) after tallying five stops in a 3-0 shutout victory at Washington College.
Paolini currently ranks second in CAC in save percentage (.938) and GAA (0.36) this season. He is also riding a 189:59 scoreless streak.
The Seahawks (3-0-2) will be back in action on Wednesday, September 12, hosting Randolph-Macon College in non-conference action in Seahawk Stadium at 4:00 p.m.
