Rams Head Live- The 2018 Maryland Music Awards were held on Saturday, December 15th at Rams Head Live in Power Plant. Sixteen categories were up for grabs with almost 100 Maryland artists and bands/groups nominated.
Southern Maryland was well represented in the Country Artists of the Year category as our own Sam Grow, Philip Michael Parsons and Wesley Spangler were nominated. Parsons and Grow were also nominated in the “Best Performer” category.
Josh Riley, another SoMd Local Music artists was nominated in the ” Best Blues Artists” category, but according to his Facebook Page Saturday night he did not win.
But Southern Maryland Music made the biggest splash this year with three of it’s artists nominated for Country Artist of The Year. With three very talented musicians nominated(Grow, Spangler, & Parsons),there was a pretty high chance the win would come from our area. Around 11:00 p.m. last night, Sam Grow took to Facebook and thanked hi loyal fans for the vote.
The Maryland Music awards have not posted a listed of all winners as of Sunday morning. The Southern Maryland Chronicle will publish the list once publicly available.
