Ms. Emily Harman, director for the Department of the Navy Office of Small Business Programs will be the Women’s History Month speaker. Harman will highlight how women-owned small businesses are contributing to mission success for the Navy and Marine Corps, and the biggest challenges in the coming years.

Speed in Acquisition and Contracting.Wednesday, March 13, 5-7 p.m. at Patuxent River Naval Air Museum.

Meeting warfighter need is all about speed! Mr. Bill Bray, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development, Test & Evaluation, will talk about the importance of accelerated acquisition and rapid contracting to mission readiness and the warfighter.

Panelists include Mr. Jeff Guarnero, deputy department head for Contracts (AIR-2.5); Mr. Gary Kurtz, SES, assistant commander for Acquisition, NAVAIR Program Management (AIR-1.0); Mr. Michael Stewart, SES, deputy director for Integrated Warfare (OPNAV N9IB); and Ms. Leslie Taylor, SES, deputy assistant commander for Test and Evaluation, NAVAIR and executive director, NAWCAD.

NAWCAD Industry Day. Tuesday, March 26, 8 a.m.-12 p.m. at Southern Maryland Higher Education Center.

NAWCAD is hosting an industry day with presentations on AIRWorks, acquisition initiatives and updates, CLIN pilot and PGI payment instructions, and new capabilities to the fleet. NAWCAD commander Rear Adm. John Lemmon will kick off the day. The opportunity for one-on-one meetings with NAWCAD department representatives will follow in the afternoon.
