The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners held a ribbon cutting ceremony today to celebrate reopening of the Solomons Boat Ramp after months of extensive renovations. The ramp was closed in October 2018 for a complete reconstruction as part of a multi-year effort to improve and increase water access in Calvert County.

The new boat ramp includes floating docks for motorized boats, a floating launch for kayaks, canoes and other non-motorized boats, and provides safe access to the Patuxent River. Upgrades are compliant with Americans with Disabilities Act requirements. The $855,692 project was funded through the Maryland Department of Natural Resources from the Maryland Waterway Improvement Fund and the Maryland Boating Infrastructure Grant program
