Available Now at Participating Markets and Regional Libraries

News Release, Southern Maryland Agricultural Development Commission

Hughesville, MD- The Southern Maryland Agricultural Development Commission (SMADC) has released the 2019 Southern Maryland Farmers’ Market Guide, available now at participating markets, regional libraries and other public venues around the region while stocks last.

The 8-page brochure (published every spring) lists 31 farmers markets in Southern Maryland, as well as 10 regional markets in the Metro DC area that carry Southern Maryland farm products.

Featured farmers’ markets offer a wide selection of locally raised produce and value-added farm products including meats and seafood, farm-made pickles and jams, local honey, eggs, plants and flowers and dairy products. Many markets now host vendors of locally produced wine, beer and distilled spirits.

A fold-out market locator map makes it easy to find a market by county, and listings provide additional ‘need to know’ details – seasonal openings and closings, days/hours of operation, street locations/addresses, as well as the market websites and other social media links to find out more.

The SMADC Farmers’ Market Guide can be viewed or downloaded on the ‘Get the Guides’ page, and view a list of pick-up sites at ‘What’s New/News and Announcements’ at www.SMADC.com
