Notice: The Chesapeake Beach Tot Lot has reopened after repairs were completed due to fire damage.

State Highway Fishing CreekBridge is nearing completion and is on schedule to be completed in mid June:Next week milling will take place in preparation of surface asphalt. The center barrier wall is expected to be removed on May 13th or 14th.

May 11 – COUNTRY DANCE.Come to the Country Dance at the American Legion Stallings-Williams Post 206 on Route 260 in Chesapeake Beach. If you can’t dance, we’ll show you how. One hour complimentary lessons commence at 7:00 p.m. followed by dancing from 8:00 p.m. until midnight. The Modest price of $15.00 per person includes soft drinks or draft beer and light munchies. May 12 – MOTHERS’ DAY BREAKFAST. Invite Mom to start out HER day with a luscious breakfast. The American Legion Auxiliary is putting its best foot forward with Gift Drawings for Mom and Belgian Waffles cooked to order by our Master Waffle Chef. Choose from an array of toppings. The Kitchen Cooks will also whip up Ham, Sausage, Scrapple, Bacon, Scrambled Eggs, Home Fries, Biscuits, Fresh Fruit, Chip Beef, plus some extras! The Breakfast Buffet will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the upper level Dining Room in Chesapeake Beach on Route 260. Adults $12; kids 6-12 $6; kids under 6 free. May 12 – MOTHERS’ DAY.Join us as we honor Mom beginning with Breakfast at 9:00 a.m., followed by Sunday Bible Study School, and thereafter an inspiring Mother’s Day Sermon by our own Pastor David. May 18 from 8 am- noon. Free Shredding Event for County residents at Huntingtown High School.The Calvert County Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Division, is hosting a FREE paper shredding event for County residents. The shred event is rain or shine.

May 22 from 9 am-11:30 am. The Calvert Alliance Against Substance Abuse and Calvert County overdose intervention team will hold a Drug-Free workplace training workshopto educate local business owners on the signs and symptoms of substance abuse. The free event will be held at Harriett E. Brown Community Center at 901 Dares Beach Rd. Prince Frederick.

BINGO!!!Come and join your friends and neighbors and support your local first responders at the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department. Bingo is held every Tuesday. Doors open at 6:00 and games start at 7:30. Food and drinks are available for purchase. Last game of the night is the Jackpot with possible prize of $1000. All proceeds go to support the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department.
