NEWS FROM TOWN HALL:
 

Notice: The Chesapeake Beach Tot Lot has reopened after repairs were completed due to fire damage. 
 

State Highway Fishing Creek Bridge is nearing completion and is on schedule to be completed in mid June: Next week milling will take place in preparation of surface asphalt. The center barrier wall is expected to be removed on May 13th or 14th.
 

The Town Celebrates Earth Day by beautifying! Thank you to the 40 volunteers, Chesapeake Beach Public Works Department, the Green Team and Councilman Pardieck for the coordination and cleaning of Bay Front Park and the Chesapeake Beach Railway Trail.  For more information, click here .

May 12 – MOTHERS’ DAY BREAKFAST.  Invite Mom to start out HER day with a luscious breakfast. The American Legion Auxiliary is putting its best foot forward with Gift Drawings for Mom and Belgian Waffles cooked to order by our Master Waffle Chef.  Choose from an array of toppings.  The Kitchen Cooks will also whip up Ham, Sausage, Scrapple, Bacon, Scrambled Eggs, Home Fries, Biscuits, Fresh Fruit, Chip Beef, plus some extras!   The Breakfast Buffet will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the upper level Dining Room in Chesapeake Beach on Route 260.  Adults $12; kids 6-12 $6; kids under 6 free.  Bloody Marys will be available for a nominal charge.  For information call 410-257-9878. May 15 from 5-8 PM – Chick-fil-A- Prince Frederick Military Appreciation Night. All active duty military and those who have honorably served, along with immediate family, are invited to a FREE Chick-fil-A Meal.  For more information, click here . May 18 – Relay By The Bay.  The American Cancer Society is looking for volunteers. They are asking for a minimum of 3 hours and each volunteer will receive a free volunteer t-shirt. To sign up to volunteer, click here .
 

May 18 from 8 am- noon.  Free Shredding Event for County residents at Huntingtown High School. The Calvert County Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Division, is hosting a FREE paper shredding event for County residents. The shred event is rain or shine.
 

May 22 from 9 am-11:30 am.  The Calvert Alliance Against Substance Abuse and Calvert County overdose intervention team will hold a Drug-Free workplace training workshop to educate local business owners on the signs and symptoms of substance abuse. The free event will be held at Harriett E. Brown Community Center at 901 Dares Beach Rd. Prince Frederick.
 

May 25-27 – 8th Annual Stars & Stripes Festival, Honoring our Fallen Heroes. For more information and a schedule of events, click here.  Volunteers are needed for Stars & Stripes opening ceremony at Veterans’ Park on May 25th and Family Fun Day on May 26th at Kellam’s Field. BINGO!!! Come and join your friends and neighbors and support your local first responders at the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department. Bingo is held every Tuesday. Doors open at 6:00 and games start at 7:30. Food and drinks are available for purchase. Last game of the night is the Jackpot with possible prize of $1000. All proceeds go to support the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department.
 

North Beach VFD Auxiliary’s Yard Sale will be held from 8:00 am until 12:00pm on every 2nd Saturday of the month from April to October. Please contact Diana after 5:00pm, at 410/231-1775 to  reserve a table.
