News Release, St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office

Several law enforcement officials, including St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office personnel, were recognized this week by dignitaries at the Nineteenth Annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.

Among those awarded from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office were Cpl. David Potter, Deputy of the Year for 2018; CO First Class Melissa Dodson, Correctional Officer of the Year for 2018, and Capt. Edward Willenborg, Commander of the Criminal Investigations Division, who was nominated by the St. Mary’s County Office of the State’s Attorney.

The event, sponsored by the Commissioners of St. Mary’s County, the St. Mary’s County Department of Aging and Human Services and Triad/SALT, was held Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at the 5 South Event Center in Callaway.
