News Release, Town of North Beach

Parents:

We are asking for your help! It seems the new thing to do at our Friday Night Farmers’ Market is to jump off of the pier. This is most popular with middle school-aged children. Jumping off the pier is not only prohibited; it is also extremely dangerous due to the low depth of water. Please ensure your children are not planning to jump off the pier and that they are aware of the potential consequences.

The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office is prepared to have children removed from the Farmers’ Market and ban them from returning for the rest of the season if they are caught jumping off the pier.
