NEWPORT, R.I. – St. Mary’s College Sailing advanced to the Sperry Women’s National Championship that will take place today (May 23) and Friday (May 24) in Newport, Rhode Island. The Seahawks captured a sixth place finish in the Sperry Women’s Western Semifinal that took place on Tuesday (May 21) and Wednesday (May 22) to qualify for the championship.

St. Mary’s College finished with a score of 180 in the Western Semifinal, finishing just behind the University of Rhode Island, MIT, College of Charleston, Dartmouth, and Yale. The Seahawks bested 12 other institutions in the 18 team field.

As mentioned, the Seahawks will now compete in the Sperry Women’s National Championship that take place today and tomorrow. Fans are encouraged to follow results at: https://scores.collegesailing.org/
