News Release, Washington Spirit

Boyds, Md.(6/3/19)– Washington Spirit keeperAubrey Bledsoehas been nominated for her fourth NWSL Save of the Week award for her reaction save against Utah Royals FC.

The save came at the end of a nearly-perfectly executed offensive attack from Utah. A Royals defender sent a ball halfway downfield where it was headed by forward Katie Stengel to fellow Royals forward Amy Rodriguez. Rodriguez got a left-footed shot off towards the goal. The ball bounced once in front of Bledsoe before taking a sharp turn to the right, despite the sudden change of direction the Spirit keeper was able to make the save by diving to her right.

The Save of the Week competition is decided by a Twitter fan vote, you can vote for Bledsoe’s save on Twitter by clicking the Tweet above.

Thanks in large part to Bledsoe’s 4th clean sheet of the season, the Spirit now sit alone at the top of the NWSL table.

The entire NWSL takes this weekend off before travelling to Tacoma, Washington to face Reign FC on June 15.
