News Release, UM Charles Regional Medical Center

University of Maryland (UM) Charles Regional Center for Wound Healing received the Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Center of Excellence award for the 5th successive year as a result of meeting the Center of Distinction quality standard established by Healogics.

To receive this recognition, the UM Charles Regional Center for Wound Healing achieved patient satisfaction rates higher than 92 percent and a healing rate of at least 91 percent in less than 30 median days to heal, for a minimum of two consecutive years. The Center was awarded this prestigious honor by Healogics, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services. Out of 413 eligible Centers, 342 were honored with this award. The award is named for Dr. Robert A. Warriner III, a pioneer in wound care and the former Chief Medical Officer for Healogics.

The Center for Wound Healing also received the Center of Distinction award for the 6th successive year as a result of achieving outstanding clinical outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including patient satisfaction higher than 92 percent, and a minimum wound healing rate of at least 91 percent within 30 median days to heal. Out of 621 eligible centers, only 423 achieved this honor.

“Continuing to focus on the needs of our patients while always looking for ways we can improve our model of care are just some of the reasons UM Charles Regional Center for Wound Healing earned these great achievements,” said UM Charles Regional’s Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer Dana Levy, MSN. “I am honored to see how much our center continues to grow and excel, all for the purpose of helping all patients achieve their goals of living their best healthy lives.”

The UM Charles Regional Center for Wound Healing is a member of the Healogics network of nearly 700 Wound Care Centers® that gave advanced treatment to more than 330,000 patients in 2018 through a connected network of centers, partner hospitals, academic medical centers, patients and families.
