Ms. Winemiller had her initial court appearance on June 20, 2019, and was given an unsecured bond of $1500.00, which was posted that day.

The incident became known to the public when an email was sent to parents of students at St. Charles High School by the principal, in which they state they were made aware of the accusations on May 22, 2019, and that Ms. Winemiller was removed from the school and placed on administrative leave. It is Charles County policy that when an accusation is made against staff, they are removed from he school and prohibited contact with any students.
