Tucked away in the heart of Indian Head is a lovely place to relax, meet with friends, read a book, and enjoy delicious coffee, tea, espresso, smoothies, baked goods, breakfast, lunch, and sweets. Clarity Coffee House is a wonderful new hidden gem!
Open since December 2018, Mark Steele, and his partner, have done a great job creating this perfect spot. Mark has been in the food business for over 30 years, starting as a teen at a family-owned business. He honed his culinary skills in Boston, Paris, and Spain. Mark understands the importance of customer service, good food, and community. I’ve been several times; each time was worth the trip! The menu has many choices of hot beverages! They also have a refreshing cold brew coffee, lemonade, and teas.
The breakfast (served until 11:30) and lunch menu offer many options. I’ve had the Bacon-Cheddar Biscuit and the Croissant & Egg Sandwich. The biscuit had a nice, light texture and is becoming a local favorite. Everything is fresh, flavorful and made in-house! One day when I was there, Mark took a Frittata out of the oven! It looked beautiful! There are often specials that are not on the menu too.
I went late in the day this past Saturday and grabbed a smoothie, some biscotti, and a scoop of Clarity’s Cranberry Granola (to add to yogurt). Mark is engaging, and the staff is very friendly. It’s small but does have some seating, and they’ve recently added a patio in back. It’s a cozy, comfortable place to pass some time.
Clarity Coffee House is located at 4175 Indian Head Highway, Indian Head, MD. The hours are Tuesday-Friday 7am-5pm, Saturday 8am-4pm, and Sunday 9am-3pm.
