Leonardtown, MD- On July 19, 2019, the States Attorney for St. Mary’s County; Richard Fritz, announced that Jeffrey Matthew Jordan; 38, of St. Mary’s City, MD had been sentenced to a maximum of ten(10) years for Theft of $25,000-$100,000.
According to the States Attorney’s statement, Jordan stole jewelry and other items from friends and family in March of 2018.
In the midst of the theft spree, Jordan was reported missing by the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, but the Sheriff’s Office sent out a message on March 16 saying that he had been located. The Sheriff’s Office provided no further information.

On November 1, 2018, Jordan was listed in the St. Mary’s County Police Briefs as being arrested and charged with the following charges( C-18-CR-18-000255 ):
- First Degree Burglary
- Third Degree Burglary
- Theft Scheme: $25,000-under $100,00
- Theft: $1,500-under $25,000
Jordan pled guilty to the Theft Scheme: $25,000 To Under $100,000 charge on January 18, 2019.
Senior Assistant State’s Attorney Buffy Giddens prosecuted the case.
