Leonardtown, Md- With several events planned in downtown Leonardtown, road closures and detours are planned from Aug. 1 through Aug. 3, 2019.
On Thursday, Aug. 1, sand will be delivered in the middle of the downtown for the Beach Party on the Square. The intersection of Fenwick Street and Washington Street will be closed and yellow metal barricades will be placed around the intersection.
On Friday, Aug. 2, roads in the downtown will be closed from 4 am to noon for Fox 5’s Zip Trip broadcast. Traffic will be diverted around and through Leonardtown Square.
Downtown roads will again be closed that day from 4 pm until 10 pm for Leonardtown’s First Friday events. Traffic will again be diverted through and around the town square.
On Saturday, Aug. 3, downtown roads will be closed from noon to midnight for the Beach Party on the Square. The sand will be removed from the roadway at the end of the event.
