KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The St. Mary’s College of Maryland women’s soccer program earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award, the organization announced today. The Seahawks were one of five Capital Athletic Conference women’s soccer programs to earn the award for the 2018-19 season. St. Mary’s College finished the year with a 3.31 cumulative grade-point average.
College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster.
A total of 989 college teams (345 men, 644 women) earned the Team Academic Award. Among the recipients, 255 schools had both their men’s and women’s programs among the recipients.
The St. Mary’s College women’s soccer team will be back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 9 when they host No. 3 Christopher Newport University at Jamie L. Roberts Stadium. Opening kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
