News Release, Prince George’s County Police Department
The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit are asking for the community’s assistance as we continue to search for the driver and the SUV that struck two pedestrians last night, killing one of them.
The victim is 54-year-old Laurel Grier of Suitland. The striking SUV which fled the scene is described as a dark-colored SUV, possibly a GMC. The SUV may have front end damage.
On October 14th, at approximately 11:35 pm, patrol officers were called to St. Barnabas Road at Raleigh Road for a report of a pedestrian collision.
The preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrians were attempting to cross St. Barnabas Road mid-block when they were struck by the SUV. Grier suffered critical injuries and was rushed to a hospital. She died a short time later.
The second victim, an adult male, suffered what appears to be non-life-threatening injuries. The victims were not in a crosswalk at the time of the collision.
