FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The St. Mary’s College of Maryland women’s soccer team earned one spot on the All-Capital Athletic Conference Second Team, the league announced today (Nov. 8). Maddie Schwarz was the lone Seahawk selection.

The first-year defender was a key piece in the Seahawk defensive unit as she started in each of the 19 games played. Her consistency as a defender for the Seahawks made a large impact this fall.Schwarztallied one goal, one assist, three points, and ten shots this season. Recently, in the second game against Southern Virginia this season,Schwarzfired off two shots against the Knights. Her goal this season was against Virginia Wesleyan in the 80th minute, which brought the Seahawks and Marlins to a tied score of 2-2.

St. Mary’s College finished with a record of 3-15-1 and was the No. 5 seed in the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament. The Seahawks’ season ended after a 3-0 loss against York College in the Quarterfinals of the CAC Tournament.
