WESTMINSTER, Md. – The St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s swimming team (1-5) traveled to McDaniel College to take on the Green Terror (1-3) in non-conference action. The Seahawks dropped the meet by a final score of 66-47.

How It Happened

  • The Seahawks captured their first victory of the meet in the 600 Yard Freestyle as Sebastian Ludwig crossed the finish line with a time of 6:16.21. Next, Peter Orban earned a first-place finish in the 150 Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:25.09. Orban followed that performance with another victory, swimming a time of 25.15 in the 50 Yard Backstroke. Lastly, St. Mary’s College wrapped up the meet with a first-place finish in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay. The team of Ryan AkhavanNate DonoghueJack Kennedy, and Orban recorded a time of 1:34.29 in the event.
  • Other notable Seahawk finishes came from Akhavan (2nd – 150 Yard Butterfly), Donoghue (3rd – 150 Yard Butterfly, 2nd – 50 Yard Freestyle), Kennedy (3rd – 150 Yard Backstroke, 3rd – 150 Yard Freestyle), Jacob Rosenzweig-Stein (2nd – 150 Yard Breaststroke), Andrew March (3rd – 150 Yard Breaststroke), Ludwig (2nd – 300 Yard IM), and Anri Cifuentes Robinson (2nd – 50 Yard Butterfly, 2nd – 50 Yard Breaststroke, 3rd – 100 Yard IM).

  • The Seahawks won the opening event in the meet when the team of Carolyn SuttonBailey EdgrenChristina Trnkus, and Brenna Litynski recorded a time of 1:59.04 in the 200 Yard Medley Relay. Next, Lexi Efron won the 150 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:55.91. Edgren tallied a first-place finish in the 50 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 33.45.
