UPDATE 4:00 p.m. The Northbound side is re-opened

Hughesville, MD- At approximately, 2:35 p.m. today, Charles County Fire and EMS were dispatched to Leonardtown Road at Gallant Green Road for a motor vehicle crash.

Units arrived on the scene to discover a single vehicle overturned and an electric line pole that was damaged with wires down.

One patient is being transported by air, via MEDEVAC, and another patient is being evaluated at the scene. SMECO has been called.

Traffic is shut down in both directions.
