Owings, MD- At approx. 4:45 a.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2020, Fire and Rescue units from Dunkirk VFD and North Beach VFD responded to Fifth Street and Ridge View Drive for a reported overturned vehicle.

Upon arrival, units found a pick-up truck overturned with the driver trapped inside. After stabilizing the vehicle the driver was removed and airlifted to an area trauma center.

The crash is currently being investigated. The roadway has been reopened per the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office, however, there may be residual delays due to the crash and road conditions.
