News Release, The Hollar

Owings, MD — The Hollar Entertainment will play host to Nashville singer-songwriter, Scott Southworth, March 14, at the Friday’s Creek Winery listening room in Owings at 7 p.m.

Southworth is an award-winning Nashville based performing singer-songwriter, a three-time Top 30 charting recording artist in Europe and the creator and co-host of Radio and T.V.’s “The Music Row Show.”
“I am so excited to perform for the first time ever in Maryland. The best part of my ‘Hillbilly Singer’ life is making new friends across the U.S. and abroad,” Scott Southworth said. “Plus, I’ve heard early March on Chesapeake Beach is the ideal time to work on my tan, so this sounds like a total win-win!”

Donna Sue Roberts, the owner of The Hollar Entertainment, the company that organizes the listening room sessions, said Southworth has had over 70 independent cuts and was named Country Music People Magazine’s “Indie Songwriter of the Year for 2018.” Singles from his most recent two CD’s; “The Last Honky Tonk In Town” and “Hey Hillbilly Singer” have seen chart success across Europe and radio play across the USA as well.

“Scott is an amazing talent with a fun-loving spirit,” Donna Sue said. “He is originally from the Pacific Northwest but has claimed his rightful place in, not only, Nashville but the world.”

He is a three-time AWA nominee for Male Vocalist of the Year and Pure Country Album of the Year. March of 2019 Scott’s album “Hey Hillbilly Singer!” was awarded the “Pure Country Album of the Year” by the Academy of Western Artists and the “Horizon Award for Country Album” by the NACMAI (North American Country Music Association International).

“Thanks to Donna Sue and the entire Hollar Entertainment team for inviting me to kick off the 2020 season and for coming up with such a creative solution to my whole ‘house arrest and ankle tracker issue,'” Southworth said in jest. “Okay, that last part may not be 100-percent accurate, but I make stuff up for a living, then I make it rhyme, so what did you expect?”

Southworth’s “The Last Honky Tonk In Town” recently earned the No. 13 slot in the “Top 25 Albums of the Decade” by Country Music People Magazine. Scott is proud to be an endorsed Larrivee Guitar artist and an endorsed Schertler Pickups artist.

He performs regularly in Nashville at the Bluebird Cafe, Douglas Corner, and the Commodore Grille as well as house concerts and many songwriting festivals around the country and overseas, recently headlining festivals in France, Spain, Norway, and Germany.
