Waldorf, MD- An online post circulating on Facebook states that on March 29, the Women, Infant and Children’s(WIC) Program will be locking current SNAP/WIC cards, and sending out new cards with three(3) months of vouchers on it.
The WIC Hartford/Cecil area Office posted that the rumor is untrue and their post has been circulated throughout Maryland to let people know this, including by The St. Mary’s County Health Department.(SMCHD). The SMCHD post states: “Make sure your news sources are reliable!“
Any information concerning SNAP and WIC will come from the respective offices in Maryland themselves. At this time no deal has been reached in Congress concerning SNAP, or Direct payments to Americans during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
