Brandywine, MD- On April 22, 2020, around 11:40 p.m., the Maryland State Police-Forestville Barracks received calls for a two-vehicle crash on Maryland southbound Route 5 at the Maryland 301 interchange in Brandywine, MD.
Police and Rescue responded to the scene to discover a gray Dodge Challenger and white Ford Truck involved.
The preliminary investigation reveals that both vehicles were traveling southbound on MD Route 5 when the Challenger struck the back of the Ford truck. The Challenger then veered off the roadway into the treeline.
EMS attempted to revive the driver of the Challenger, Wilbert Lee Hines JR,38 of Waldorf, MD; but were unsuccessful.
Due to the nature of the crash, the Maryland State Police Crash Team and Commercial Vehicle Unit responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.
At this time alcohol, drugs, nor speed are listed as a factor in the crash. This is a developing story.
