In the ongoing COVID-19 shut-down saga, I am now on week five of Restaurant Revisits. I am checking in with two more of my favorite restaurants from my articles over the past year. I am providing links to the original articles, and letting you know their current status. In addition, I am giving links to my recent articles with by-county spreadsheets of open (for carryout, curbside, and/or delivery) restaurants.

Dat Jerk

  • 2716 Crain Highway
  • Waldorf, MD
  • 240-210-8113

One of my favorites for fabulous food and great service is Dat Jerk in Waldorf. Angela and Richard, along with Richard’s sister Patricia, have created a menu full of delicious Caribbean flavors. They have perfected their slow-cooked rotisserie chicken and it is so tender and flavorful. My favorites are the Sauced & Tossed Shrimp and Plantains (of course).

Angela told me they recently added two new popular items to the menu…Chicken Patties and Homemade Mac & Cheese.

There are three ways to order Dat Jerk:

1. Online at

2. Use the mobile app “Heartland Guest” (Apple or Google Store)

3. By phone at 240-210-8113

Dat Jerk is open Monday through Saturday 12:00noon to 8:00pm and Sunday 12:00noon to 6:00pm.

Last time I went, we shared several small plates and they were delightful. The bulgogi is delicious too!
