It is week twelve of Restaurant Revisits and I am letting you know about a couple more of my favorite places! Woo’s Kitchen in California and Silver Skewers in Waldorf. Both make fabulous, fresh food. Check their Facebook pages or websites for additional information and any specials.

I continue to be amazed at how creative and thoughtful area restaurants are at adapting to our current “normal”. They are using proper sanitation methods, having less diners inside to allow for social distancing, and some have been able to have outdoor dining. I want to say thank you to all the restaurants/people who work so hard to make sure we have options for delicious food!

Woo’s Kitchen has wonderful authentic Korean food. Two of my favorite dishes are the Bulgogi (marinated, thin-sliced rib eye) and the Gal bi (thin-sliced short ribs). One of the favorites is Bibimbob (bowl with rice, nine vegetables, meat, and an egg).

Woo’s homemade sides include Japchae (sweet potato noodles), Kimchi, Cucumber Kimchi, Watercress Salad, and Spicy Noodles. Woo told me “The side dishes are made fresh every day”. He offers Tofu as an alternative for protein and has vegan/vegetarian options.

Woo’s Kitchen’s hours are Mondays through Saturdays 11:00am to 8:00pm and they are closed on Sundays.

I first dined at Silver Skewers when my daughter was in an infant seat…she is almost 20 years old now. Owner Shala Irani has created a warm, comfortable place to enjoy her delicious Persian/Iranian cuisine. My go-to mean is the shrimp and chicken kabobs. The rice and grilled vegetables are amazing! When my daughter was little, Shala always made sure there was an extra bowl of rice for my girl. Sometimes it’s the little things!

Silver Skewers is one of those places where I always know I am going to have an amazing meal. Consistency is important to me. Over the last 19 years, I have never been disappointed with the taste and quality of my food. I think that is quite an accomplishment!

Sliver Skewers’ hours are Mondays through Saturdays from 11:00am to 9:00pm and they are closed on Sundays.
